What the heck is a Pijoo?
Pijoo is a blog directory, a social network, and a social voting site all rolled into one. By adding your blog to Pijoo, you can get more hits, more readers, and a whole bunch of new contacts from the blogosphere, as well as being able to track your visitors, build a community around your blog and keep up with the latest posts from other blogs.
How it began...
Pijoo began life as an experimental blogging service, with the idea that early adopters could help us finish the site and fine-tune the features by giving feedback as we built the site around them, and instead of waiting until it was finished, we launched a bare-bones website and invited people in. The result was far better than expected, and almost immediately, bloggers were kicking the door down and demanding every feature under the sun (thanks for that).
This unusual approach to launching a web service worked so well, we started making changes to the design, layout and features that members requested, and pijoo continues to evolve with the ever changing blogosphere.
Who's behind it?
Pijoo is one of many projects managed by Giz Media, a Giz Ltd company (formerly Gizfolio Ltd) based in the UK. Giz was founded in May 2007 as a freelance promotional services company before launching a series of experimental web start-ups.

Calvin is the creative brains behind Giz Ltd, handling design aspects, branding and project management. When he's not blogging, Calvin can be found with a pencil, creating wierd characters as a freelance graphic designer, published childrens illustrator and author.

Brett brings over a decade of technical experience to the mix, working as a freelance software developer before co-founding Giz Ltd and pijoo.com. When he's not blogging, Brett is tinkering with new projects and overseeing technology and innovation for the company.
