While most of these points are not strictly enforced, the guidelines on this page will help you get the most out of your submissions, and encourage positive feedback from the community, which will help you gain more karma points by contributing quality content to the site.

Post Submission Guidelines

When posting an article, video or image to Pijoo, it helps to be aware of the kind of content other members are looking for. Your posts will be voted on by the community, so try to follow these do's and don'ts to ensure a positive response.

Do

• Check for duplicates before you post - users may vote-down a post if it matches an older submission.
• Make use of the Preview button - this will allow you to spot any mistakes before you submit.
• Tag your entries - tagging your post with related keywords allows others to find your post more easily.
• Mark your title with [pic] or [vid] where appropriate - users who prefer certain media types will find it easier.
• Use the 'about' field to write a description, or your opinion - this will encourage others to comment.
• Yes, it's OK to post your own site, as long as it's interesting and relevent.

Don't

• Link to spam sites or anything with excessive/pop-up ads or sneaky re-directs. This is the quickest way to get down-voted.
• Post anything illegal or offensive - the NSFW (not safe for work) category is for borderline offensive content. Strictly no porn, no gore, no racism etc..
• Down-vote competing posts to boost your own - it doesn't work like that.
• Create multiple accounts to game the votes - we can spot this, and all accounts/sites involved will be banned.

Commenting Guidelines

Contributing to discussions with well thought-out comments can also raise your karma, and it's equally important to follow-up a good post with your thoughts on the subject. Posts with more comments are often ranked higher, and have more chance of reaching the front page, so try to encourage discussion when you post.

Do

• Write clever, insightful comments that add value to the discussion and make you look awesome.
• Vote comments up or down where appropriate - others will do the same for you and your karma will increase.
• Make use of the bbcode tags to add formatting, images or videos.

Don't

• Use excessive profanity, racist or hateful speech, and don't attack others just because you disagree.
• Use bbcode to embed links, images or videos that don't add to the discussion.
